Fall is officially here! When the season changes, so do our home needs. The weather can change quickly and it's best to be prepared. Don't Delay! Preparing your home for Fall isn't tricky,  it's just time-consuming. Listed below are a few helpful tips that will help you prepare your home for Fall.

Furnace Inspected

Hire an HVAC professional to test for leaks and heating efficiency. Also, change the filter, stock up on extra filters and change them every few months.

Test Home Safety Devices 

Make sure all smoke detectors and carbon monoxide devices are working properly and replace the batteries.

Clean The Gutters

Remove leaves, nests, and debris from gutters and check for leaks.

Turn Off Faucets And Store Hoses

Drain garden hoses and disconnect from the outside spigots. Also, shut off exterior faucets. Outdoor hoses and pipes will burst if they're full of water when the temperature drop.

Roof Check

Look for missing, damaged or loose shingles. If your roof is flat, remove the leaves and debris.

Check Chimney And Fireplace

If you use your wood fireplace often, have your chimney and fireplace clean and inspected by a professional.

Windows And Doors 

Check caulk and seals around all doors and windows. Also, remove screens and install storm windows and doors.

Fertilize Lawn

Applying fall lawn fertilizer will help prevent damage and spring weeds. This will trigger the renewed growth of both roots and blades.

Seasonal Furniture

Clean and store seasonal outdoor furniture. Remove and clean cushions, and store in a dry place.

Winter Equipment

Get your winter equipment ready! Make sure your winter items are in good shape. Also, service your ice melt and snowblower and make sure they are ready to go.
